Online Poker Tournaments at Pokertropolis
Pokertropolis is proud to host exciting multi-table poker tournaments. Play does not stop until one player is left holding all the chips. To get started, follow the simple directions below.
Signing up for a tournament is fast and easy. After you have registered an account and downloaded our free poker software, simply click once on the 'Tournaments' button located on our main lobby window and the tournaments lobby window will appear. To register for a tournament, select the 'Registering' tab and click the 'Signup' button next to any tournament you would like to play. There is a brief description of each tournament just to the right of each 'Signup' button.
All tournament start times are in your computers' local time zone.
Time To Play
You will see a pop-up window summoning you to your tournament three minutes before the tournament begins, even if you are playing a different game when the time comes. To take a seat, find your tournament in the tournament list window and click the 'Go To.' button.
All players are randomly assigned a seat. As the tournament progresses and players are eliminated, tables are consolidated with players being moved automatically to another table. Eventually there will only be one table remaining. Tables are balanced during consolidation to ensure that all tables have an equal number of players as is possible.
Seeing Your Ranking During a Tournament
To see your current ranking at anytime during a tournament, click on the blue colored 'View Lobby' button. The tournament lobby window will appear and you can check your current ranking position in the 'Rankings' window. To go back to your tournament, click on the 'BACK TO GAME' button in the upper right hand corner of the tournament lobby menu bar.
Tournament Prize Distribution
The top winners receive a distribution of the tournament prize money based on the total number of players that registered. The breakdown of poker tournament prize pools and their distribution can be seen by clicking on the 'Tournament Information' button on any live tournament table. After a tournament has been completed, prize pool distributions can be seen on the 'Rankings' window by clicking on any completed tournament after the 'Completed' tab has been selected.
Viewing the Poker Tournaments
Anyone can be a viewer at any active tournament by selecting the 'In Progress' tab and then clicking on the 'View' button.
Going Out at the Same Time
If two players are eliminated during the same hand, a higher ranking will go to the one who had more chips when the hand began.
Late to your Seat?
If you fail to take your seat on time, the tournament software will put your character in play automatically. The blinds or antes will be taken normally and your hand will be folded until you take your seat. Your seat will not be forfeited.
If you loose connection during a hand and fail to return before your timer runs out, your hand will be folded. The blinds or antes will continue to be taken normally and all hands will be folded until you take your seat again. Your seat will not be forfeited. Pokertropolis cannot take responsibility for player disconnections except in the unlikely event of a server crash.
Restarting a Tournament
In the extremely rare event of a tournament being halted, the tournament will be restarted as soon as possible. You will have 10 minutes to rejoin the tournament after the tournament has been restarted before play will resume. To sit back down, click on the 'Restarting' tab and select your tournament. The last uncompleted hand before the tournament halted will not be counted. Every player's chip balance will be reset to the balance at the beginning of the last uncompleted hand. If a started tournament is ever permanently cancelled during play, all undistributed portions of the prize pool will be equally divided among the remaining players.
